Well, I would like to thank the many posters who have been e-mailing me with their questions. That being said, I would prefer if our Newbie posters would ask their questions in this thread so that others might gain from the discussions instead of e-mailing me, but of course I will always respond to e-mails as well. Let the questions begin.

Welcome Winners!

Most posters in the Sports Forums, like the NBA, make a new thread for each days plays rather then a season long thread. If you are posting plays for various sports, try to post them in the appropriate forum like the NFL, College Football, NBA, College Hoops, Hockey and so on. Here's wishing you all the best of success and thank you for joining. :toast:

Hi Old Man Ted, I am a newbie to sports gambling. I plan on just starting off with very small amounts, which sportsbook would you recommend for a newbie?

Welcome to the RX. The choice of a sportsbook is dependent on your needs as each provides a wide range of betting options and limits for the player. At the top of this page you will see the names of our sponsors and you can click on any of them and be taken directly to their site for more information. Ones that I would recommend taking a look at first are Boomaker, WSEX, Betjamaica and Skybook. Many of our members have found these to be solid outs and provide a wide variety of options. I would encourage you, that as you have time, go to each site and see the different bonuses and reduced juice that each one offers. Best of luck to you and thank you for joining the RX. :toast:

Hi OMT, would you use Pinnacle (not in the US) or books with bonuses for the long run? Another word is better odds from Pinnacle better or take the bonuses better?

Thanks, ckk

I would use Pinnacle if I was outside the U.S. ahead of books with bonuses as the reduced juice will more then offset the bonus in the long run.

Hey OMT, I have a spread question. Say Charlotte was -1.5 and then it changed to +1.5 just before game time. What does that mean? Is the linesmen trying to get you to play Charlotte? Is this not a good sign for someone who played Charlotte at -1.5? Thank you for your help.

OrionSky:

First off welcome to the RX. The example you have presented with the line on Charlotte moving from -1.5 to +1.5 just before game time indicates that late money has been placed on the opponent. The oddsmaker is moving the line where that late money is going, meaning the opponent has moved from an underdog of +1.5 to the favorite of -1.5. As to whether or not this is a good sign for someone who played Charlotte, the answer is not necessarily. Their are those that will argue just the opposite and who wait for the late money to come in and follow which side the money is going on and feel strongly that late money is placed by sharp and large players. There is some validity to this however having personally watched line movements for 35 years, I have seen the sides with late line movements lose as much as win. May I suggest that you start to track these movements for yourself and see what the results are before drawing your own conclusion. I hope this helps and here's wishing the very best of success.

I have a quick question about posting. Where do I go to start a thread in the tracking forum? I want to post my plays, but I don't want others posting in the thread. Is there any way to do this?

Gumbi:

Welcome to the RX. To answer your question, you must have 300 posts before you can start a thread in the Tracker Forum. You are welcome to start a thread in any of our sports forums or right here in the Newbies Forum, but they will be open to comment. I truly understand how you feel but we wanted to assure that the Tracker Forum was set up for those veteran posters that really want to keep an honest record. If any poster bothers you, simply click on the "Report Post" icon at the lower left of the page and our moderators will receive the message and act accordingly. Really hope you decide to post your plays and I want to wish you the very best of luck.

Welcome to the RX. As to your question, the RX does not have a free superbowl props parlay contest. This sounds like one that perhaps a sportsbook may be offering. If you can provide more details perhaps I can help you further.

The RX does have some free Superbowl contests which can be found in the Offshore Forum at the top of the page. Here are the links for those contests.

I've been wondering a lot about this question and maybe you can help.

Where does the white go when the snow melts?

thanks
